Seven charts built from what contractors actually complain about on Reddit. Each one is designed to be screenshotted and quoted inside an angry renewal thread. The shapes below are mock-ups on illustrative data; the complaints, quotes and thread references are real.
Every chart is framed as what WithCoverage observed across its own book, not a market forecast. Ranges, medians and percentiles from bound programs are facts about the book; they are not rate projections. That is the framing Ramp uses for its spend reports and ContractorNerd uses for its “800+ quotes” ranges.
Two charts become permanent, citable pages (What contractors pay; The New York Tax). The rest are quarterly drops timed to renewal season, each with one headline number written for a Reddit title.
Values are generated to show the shape, the interactions and the annotation each chart needs. Trade lists, states, revenue bands and the vocabulary (class codes, action-over, minimum earned premium) are the real ones the audience uses. Replace the data arrays at the top of the script with book data and the charts render as-is.
Bonus chart 7 is the exception: the complaint ranking is the real ranking from the research; only the share figures are placeholders pending a count.
